All around our home you will find collections, from carnival glass to sea shells. One of my favorites is our rock collection. In it you will find everything from old sandstone pebbles picked up from my grandmother's driveway to dazzling geodes purchased at the Renaissance Festival.
My sons have added to this collection with their backyard finds and interesting rocks found on vacation. There are even a few specimens that were made with a crystal growing kit one of the boys got for Christmas.
Most of our stones, however, were bought at our local nature center. It's wonderful to be able to purchase stones we could never find ourselves and be amazed at the beauty nature has created.

What a timely post for me...DS (age 6) just LOVED going to the Black Hills in SD last week. He totally got into collecting rocks (mica, slate, quartz, pyrite) and now erected a "museum" in his room, lol!

I collect shot glasses from places we've visited, or friends buy me one when they travel. I used to keep them in "whatnot" cases on my walls, but ran out of cases. Been planning for years to make an album of each glass, who gave it to me, when and where it's from. Haven't started yet. Will take years to complete.
